Why I Have Over 200,000 Views on Google Plus

Why do I only have about 40 followers on Google Plus but over 200,000 page views?

Some call Google Plus a ghost town. I never really paid much attention to it until recently, when I got Guy Kawasaki’s eBook, What the Plus! Kawasaki claims that Google Plus is a truly a big deal and worthy of being taken seriously. Of course, Guy Kawasaki is a bit like Gary Vaynerchuk. Whichever platform they choose will necessarily become a big deal–it's called the Kawasaki effect! Whether or not you agree with Kawasaki's opinions about Plus, it’s true that there are some great folks hanging out there, so I decided to become more active.

Although I found that my followers numbered in the low double digits, my page views were well over 200,000. How could that be? The answer is Buzz, which was, shall we say, shut down. Go figure.

Back in the day, I used to tweet about innovation on Google Buzz. After Buzz was shut down, it appears that my old Buzz statistics were credited to my Plus account. Furthermore, my Buzz posts were archived in Google Drive as PDFs.

I tweeted some great innovation content back then, and most of the links are still active, so if you’d like to take a walk down memory lane, here's a link to the archive.

Better yet, if you're like me and have Evernote Premium or Business, you can simply drag and drop the PDFs into Evernote to be indexed and included in future search results. Enjoy!
